LRC OVERVIEW

By virtue of HPMA Special Orders Number 35 dated 12 January 2005, The Learning Resource Center (LRC) was activated effective 17 December 2004 as a support unit of the Headquarters Academic Group. It incorporates the functions of the library, the Printing and Reproduction Unit, and the Textbook Office. LRC is the primary learning support facility of the academy.

Upon activation, the PMA administration with the support of the cadet corps, pushed for the development of the center. Development steps started with the automation project of the library by acquisition of several computer equipments, software, and the Athena library system. Plans and programs are in place to further develop the center in providing up-to-date learning requirements of the cades, faculty and the whole PMA organization.

MISSION

“To provide efficient, quality and advanced library services and learning resources in order to sustain the learning needs of the cadets, instructional needs of the faculty, military and educational programs, and various academe researches, in support of the Academy's mission.”

VISION

“This center shall become a renowned and reputable learning resource center in the country and in the Asian region because of its richness in military collections, state-of-the-art IT capability, and its vital role in the fulfillment of the academy's mission being the academy's information warehouse.”
